WEST POINT N.Y. - FDU women's soccer (0-2-0) faced the Army Black Knights (1-0-1) Sunday afternoon at the U.S. Military Academy at West Point. FDU battled all game long, but the Knights' efforts were not enough as Army beat FDU by a 2-0 tally.
1st Half

Army broke open the scoring in the 11' off a towering header from Emma Richey that ended up in the top left corner of the goal to make it 1-0 for the home side.
-
The Black Knights doubled their lead in the 20' after a goal scored by Kaitlin Palaian that made it 2-0 in favor of Army.
-
FDU was out-shot in the first half by a mark of 14-0.
2nd Half
-
FDU came out energized in the second half as they notched their first shot-on-goal in the 50' from senior Lea Egner which was heroically saved by Army's Taylor Stalheim.
-
FDU kept pushing as they recorded two more shots in the half but could not find a breakthrough.
-
Army minimized the FDU attack, holding them to only three shots and four corner kicks all match.
"Unfortunately for us, we had the same kind of performance we had the other night where we just came out passive and flat in the first half," said head coach Eric Teepe following the game. "We just let them [Army] dictate the game and unfortunately, we fell behind by two goals and never found our rhythm."
FDU hits the road for a third-straight match to face Monmouth (2-0-0) at Hesse Field on the Great Lawn. The Burgundy and Blue will look to get their first win of the season after a tough start to the new campaign. The game will be streamed live on FloFC.
