Scouting the Knights

The Knights will return to Ocean Breeze following a trip to the John Thomas Terrier Classic in Boston last weekend. Set to compete at the Metropolitan Championships are familiar competitors including Fordham, LIU, St. Francis Brooklyn and Manhattan.

Competing for the Knights is Chloe Lucas who secured her second NEC Rookie of the Week honor on Tuesday after recording a pair of personal records at the John Thomas Terrier Classic. With a 55.80 time in the 400m, the freshman finished fifth in the event and notched the fastest time in the NEC this season. Lucas also holds the third-fastest time for the 200m, with a 25.57 finish.

Shantelle Riley posted a fourth-place finish on Friday in the 200m dash. Riley recorded a 24.73 time, tenths of a second from her personal best and FDU school record.

Both Knights earned a third-place finish in the women's 4x400 relay. The team consisting of Lucas, Riley, Jazmyn Lewis and Shy-Ann Campbell landed the bronze with a 3:54.50 time.

Next Up

Following the Metropolitan Indoor Championships, the Knights will return to competition on Friday to compete at the Rutgers Open in a two-day event at The Armory in the Bronx, N.Y.
