The Knights host Big East foe Georgetown for Friday Night Showdown

HACKENSACK, N.J. – The FDU Knights (7-2, 0-0) welcome the Georgetown Hoyas (5-3, 1-1) to Stratis Arena inside the Rothman Center on Friday, December 9, the game will take place at 7 p.m. and will be aired on NEC Front Row. This will be the first time a Big East competitor will travel to Hackensack since St. John's did in the 2020-'21 campaign. Both teams come into this matchup with strong starts to the season under their belts. The strong 7-and-2 start for FDU has been on the backbone of an efficient offense and stifling defense. The offense is leading the Northeast Conference in field goal and three-point percentage while also holding teams to the lowest field goal and three-point percentages for opponents. The Burgundy and Blue will be looking to defeat a Big East opponent at home for the first time since the 2001-'02 season when they defeated St. John's 66-64.

Last Time Out

FDU improved to 7-2 on the year with a 62-48 win over UMass Lowell. The Knights struggled in the first half where they shot only 28% in the second quarter. FDU went into the half down by five points. The Knights have not faced a halftime deficit since their season opener at Marquette. This was a good test for a Knights team who has started the season with multiple tremendous performances. Despite the halftime deficit, they came out and outscored the River Hawks in the third quarter 13-7 and then put UMass in a hole they could not climb out of in the fourth quarter. The final quarter saw the Knights go on a 22-9 run which included 61.5% shooting from the field and a perfect 3-for-3 from three-point land. The Knights were led by Dahomée Forgues who had a huge second half and scored 12 points in the final two periods including the first seven Knights points in the fourth quarter.

  • Chloe Wilson is coming off a 16-point performance that helped the Knights take down UMass Lowell.
  • Forgues had a huge game last time out where she put up 16 points on 7-for-11 shooting and added nine rebounds to the stat sheet.
Scouting the Hoyas
