FDU Announces Contract Extension for Gaitley

HACKENSACK, N.J. – FDU Senior Associate Vice President/Director of Athletics Bradford Hurlbut announced a contract extension for FDU women's basketball head coach Stephanie Gaitley on Wednesday morning.

"I am thrilled to announce that Coach Gaitley will continue to lead this great program," Hurlbut commented on the extension. "This past season was historic for many reasons, and we look forward to many more milestones in this era of Knights basketball. Since arriving on campus, Gaitley has been a force of energy, positivity, and strong culture throughout our entire department."

The extension comes after Gaitley led the Knights to their best season in program history in 2024-25. The Knights finished the campaign with a 29-4 record, the highest win total in FDU history.

Gaitley took the Knights to an NEC Championship in 2025, their first conference title in over thirty years, and just the second in program history. The Knights also went dancing for the first time under Gaitley's leadership. The Knights were selected as a #15 seed in the 2025 NCAA Tournament, where they faced off against #2 TCU.

"I am thankful to Brad and President Avaltroni for giving me the opportunity to continue to lead this amazing group of women," Gaitley said of the extension. "This has been a special year and FDU is a special place. My staff and I look forward to continue to build a tradition of excellence."
