Knights Finish Their Non-Conference Schedule vs. Delaware State

DOVER, Del. – After a two-week hiatus, the FDU Knights women's basketball team is back in action. FDU (7-4, 0-0) will travel to Dover, Del. where they will take on the Delaware State Hornets (2-8, 0-0) on December 30 at Memorial Hall. The game will take place at 2 p.m. and will be streamed to watch through DESU-TV. The Knights are 10-6 all-time versus the Hornets. The Burgundy and Blue's last win over DSU was last season when the Hornets visited Stratis Arena inside the Rothman Center. The Knights handled the Hornets last season picking up a 71-45 victory on Dec. 7. This will be the last non-conference matchup of the year for Angelika Szumilo's squad.

Last Time Out

The Knights dropped their second consecutive game by double-digits in the Bronx, N.Y. today when they lost 78-58. Fordham blitzed FDU in the first quarter by outscoring them 21-4. The massive early lead from the Rams was due to the Knights poor 1-for-14 shooting in the first 10 minutes of play. The uncharacteristically bad start for the Burgundy and Blue put them in a hole that was too much to overcome. Throughout the last 30 minutes, the Knights were only outscored by one point by the rams, 47-46. The early hole made it difficult for FDU to come back without going on a run themselves, every time the Knights hit multiple shots in a row the dynamic backcourt duo for the Rams had an answer. Junior points leader Chloe Wilson was once again in foul trouble early for the Knights, limiting her to only 20 minutes of play.

The Knights
  • Chloe Wilson is leading the Knights with 15.2 points per game and 6.3 rebounds a contest.
  • Redshirt freshman Ella Fajardo has been a sharpshooter this season hitting 15-of-33 three-pointers on the season.
  • Quebec native, Dahomée Forgues will be looking to extend her double-digit point streak to four games versus the Hornets.
Scouting the Hornets

  • Guard Denijsha Wilson is a player to watch for the Hornets, she is averaging nearly nine points a night on 38% shooting from the field.
