"I think we could've played better in the first half, but in the second half after talking to the team about a few things I think we really took control of the game and dominated play." Stated head coach Eric Teepe. "We are definitely ready for our next match against CCSU, we have a few beat up bodies and some fatigue issues but at this point in the season who doesn't. We are excited to play on Sunday and will be ready for the challenge."
"We have had players that have truly stepped up in the back. We struggled in the beginning of the season finding a sense of consistency but we have developed confidence as a whole. As a back line we have minimized our mistakes with lots of communication, hard work, and support." Stated Nina Carlomusto "All that was on my mind was making sure that ball did not go in the back of the net on the goal line clearance. As a center back that is the most important part of the job. I am just happy to have been there to allow us to keep that clean sheet and give us that extra boost to keep going forward."
The Knights face first place CCSU on Sunday, October 16th for a matchup of the top two teams in the NEC table. This will be a decisive game which will have a major impact on who will finish as the top team in the conference. The game will be played at CCSU Soccer Field at 6 PM and broadcast live on NEC Front Row.
