Scouting the Knights
Three Knights secured NEC Athlete of the Week honors following FDU's performance at the Penn 10-Team Select on Saturday. As the Knights return to Staten Island, they will face familiar NEC competitors such as Sacred Heart, St. Francis Brooklyn and LIU.
Shantelle Riley notched Co-Track Athlete of the Week Honors and earned a spot in FDU's record book following a first-place finish in the 200-meter dash at Ocean Breeze on Saturday. With a 24.64-second time, Riley surpassed the previous record held by Shanice Watkins in 2019 and secured the honor.
Chloe Lucas earned Rookie of the Week honors after posting a personal-best 57.45-second finish, the top time in the NEC.
Taeco O'Garro landed Field Athlete of the Week honors with a first-place finish with a 7.27-meter mark in the long jump. O'Garro also posted a second place finish in triple jump behind Salif Mane who secured the gold with a 15.78-meter mark.
Other top performers for the Knights include Ashleigh Convery who recorded a personal record with a 14.71-meter mark in the weight throw and Ben Clay III who finished fourth with a 16.08-meter mark in shot put.
