Women's Track and Field Set for ECAC/IC4A Championships

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – The Fairleigh Dickinson women's track and field team will send athletes to compete in the 2021 ECAC/IC4A Championships held at American International College beginning at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 15 and conclude Sunday, May 16.

Scouting the Knights
Freshman Shantelle Riley qualified for both the 100-meter and 200-meter dash and will compete in the prelims on Saturday. Riley posted a PR and took home a silver medal at the NEC Championships in the 200-meter final with a 24.73 time. She also brought home a bronze medal and another PR in the 100-meter dash with a 12.17 mark. She enters the ECAC/IC4A Championships ranked second among NEC competitors in the 200-meter and fourth among NEC runners in the 100-meter.

Sophomore Lisa Warfvinge will also be competing for the Knights in two events, the long and triple jump. Warfvinge earned a silver medal in the NEC Championship and set a PR in the long jump with a leap of 5.99 meters. The sophomore also brought home a bronze medal and a personal-best at FDU with a jump of 11.91 meters in the triple jump at the NEC Championship. She ranks second among NEC athletes in the long jump and fourth in the triple jump.

Fellow sophomore Dominyka Leskauskaite also qualified for the ECAC/IC4A Championships in the long and triple jump. Leskauskaite earned a bronze medal in the long jump at the NEC Championship with a PR jump of 5.77 meters. She also posted a PR of 11.97 in the Knights most recent event at the West Point Twilight in the triple jump. The sophomore ranks third in both the long and triple jump among all NEC competitors.  

Junior Jazmyn Lewis is the final Knight who will compete over the weekend. Lewis will compete in the 400-meter dash after qualifying with a season-best time of 57.62 at the 2021 Monmouth Spring Invitational on April 18.
