No. 7 Women's Bowling Wins Northeast Roundup

FDU also won the tournament during the 2019-20 season

LODI, N.J. – The No. 7 Fairleigh Dickinson women's bowling team (30-2, 17-1 NEC) went 4-0 at home on Friday to win their second consecutive Northeast Roundup title.

FDU defeated No. 13 Sacred Heart, Monmouth and Wagner en route to the four-match victory. To begin the day, the Knights battled SHU, defeating their conference rival 1,024-849. The Burgundy and Blue followed with an 1,105-855 win over Monmouth, the eighth straight victory over the Hawks and the third this season, and a nail-biting 889-797 victory over fellow NEC member Wagner.

In the playoff round which pitted the first-seeded Knights against second-seeded Monmouth, FDU came away victorious on their home lanes, 1,004-898. This win extended the series win streak over Monmouth to nine and four on the season.

Knights senior Jenna Henderson, the reigning NEC Co-Bowler of the Week, led the tournament's individual standings with a high game of 279 (214-279-194-198) and a total 885, averaging 221.25 pins per game.

Following the tournament, FDU head coach Mike LoPresti said, "We've been road warriors over the past few seasons, competing everywhere but our home center. Today, we got a chance to compete in official NCAA matches while home and boy was it a treat."

FDU closes out the conference regular season schedule with a match against No. 13 Sacred Heart on Sunday, March 7, beginning at 8:30 AM in West Haverstraw, N.Y. Fans can watch live on Facebook by searching "FDU Knights Bowling" or by visiting Facebook.com/FDUKnightsWBOWL.
