Scouting the Knights
FDU (2-3-0, 2-1-0 NEC) was selected to finish second in the NEC Preseason Poll after a 2019 season in which the Burgundy and Blue won the NEC Tournament championship and advance to the NCAA tournament. The Knights opened the 2020-21 season with back-to-back 2-0 losses on the road against Fordham and Seton Hall before opening NEC play with a 1-0 road win at Sacred Heart on March 1. Freshman Hugo Bacharach scored in the 89' for the Knights, giving them their first goal and victory of the campaign. The Knights' second conference match of the season at home against Bryant on March 8 was postponed due to COVID-19 protocols. FDU defeated LIU in 2OT on March 15, 3-2, as freshman Jeremy Opong scored the game-winner in the 95. The Burgundy and Blue head home coming off a 3-0 loss at CCSU on March 22.
