NEW BRITAIN, Conn. – The Fairleigh Dickinson women's soccer team (3-3-0, 3-2-0 NEC) drooped its second match in a row with a 1-0 loss to Central Connecticut State (2-0-0, 2-0-0 NEC) on Friday night from CCSU Soccer Field.
Senior
Cassandra Marcoux recorded a game-high seven saves in the match and tallied three in the first half and four in the second half. Junior
Madelyn Robbins attempted both FDU shots on goal in the match.
Coach Teepe's Thoughts
"It was a tough game which we expected," said head coach
Eric Teepe following the match. "We felt we battled hard and there were little clear chances for either side."
"I felt they were just a little more courageous than us going forward and thereby created chances which they eventually capitalized on. Moving forward with how banged up we are it hopefully will give us a lift for the rest of the spring games knowing we can challenge anyone."
"I was proud of my team. They stepped up to a challenge today that they didn't have to make. And it truly shows what character and competitiveness they have!"
