STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. - Senior Lisa Warfvinge picked up a first place finish in the long jump on Saturday at Ocean Breeze Complex as the Knights opened their season at the Bill Ward Invitational.
With a 5.64 mark, Warfvinge secured the gold for the Burgundy and Blue.
The women notched a top finish in the 4x400 relay with the team consisting of Chloe Lucas, Jazmyn Lewis, Daniella Griffith and Shantelle Riley earning the bronze.
Making their first appearances as Knights were freshmen Akayla Morris and Aniya Johnson. Morris competed in the 60-meter dash with a finals time of 8.11 seconds. Johnson competed in the women's 300-meter race with a time of 51.46 seconds.
