Scouting the Highlanders
Leading by one point (33-32) at the half on Tuesday, November 16, at Rutgers, the NJIT Highlanders head into Wednesday's matchup with the Knights 1-2 on the season with their lone win coming at Lehigh back on November 13, 73-56. NJIT has four Northeast Conference members on their non-conference schedule this season, including the matchup with the Knights on the hardwood in Newark. The Highlanders haven't played in eight days as their contest with Wagner, scheduled for November 20, was postponed due to multiple positive COVID-19 tests among the Seahawks' tier one personnel. Leading the way for Brian Kennedy's squad is senior guard Dylan O'Hearn who's posted 53 points in his first three games played this season. O'Hearn currently sits with the individual game high for the Highlanders in six categories including points (23), three-point field goals made (four) and turnovers (five).

Scouting the Knights
Returning to the Garden State on Wednesday,
Greg Herenda's Knights will book to get in the win column for the first time this season as they face NJIT for the first time in three years. FDU showed their Jersey grit on Sunday, November 20, at St. John's in which the Knights set several season highs and a much-improved performance. Scoring a season-high 74 points, the Burgundy and Blue snapped out of the 49-point plateau and crossed over 20 points scored in the first half for the first time in 2021-22. Led by junior co-captain
Devon Dunn's 24 points, the Knights hit their stride late in the first half and coming out of the halftime break with the game within as few as nine points with just minutes to play. Dunn shot 67 percent from three-point range and also did his part to support his teammates with the Washington, D.C. native logging a team-high three assists in Queens. Fellow junior
Brandon Rush put up big marks as well in the offensive phase with the Warrensville, Ohio product attempting 17 field goals and recording seven rebounds to boost FDU's effort.

Coach Herenda's Thoughts
"NJIT is a very well-coached and talented team. We came to Newark two weeks ago and we need to play much better and show ourselves just how much we improved in that period of time in order to have a chance to win."
