TEANECK, N.J. – The 17th-ranked Fairleigh Dickinson women's bowling team competes in the Chestnut Hill Baker Classic this weekend in Pennsylvania, starting the three-day tournament on Friday, February 7.
TOURNAMENT INFO
The Knights (35-28) are one of 13 teams competing in the event held at Berks Lanes near Reading, Pa. The weekend will consist of entirely Baker scoring matches, with two days of five total pin fall qualifying matches followed by a three-round Baker best four-of-seven playoff bracket on Sunday. Competition on Friday begins at 11 a.m., and Baker qualifying rounds resume Saturday at 9:30 a.m., with the playoff bracket scheduled to start on Sunday at 8:30 a.m.
FDU is the highest-ranked team in the tournament field, with no. 18 Delaware State, no. 20 Adelphi and no. 25 LIU representing the rest of the ranked teams at the event. Other possible opponents for the Knights include host Chestnut Hill, Caldwell, Howard, Kutztown, Molloy, Mount Aloysius, New Jersey City, Norfolk State and Walsh.
FEBRUARY NTCA POLL
The National Tenpin Coaches Association released its updated
top-25 coaches poll on Wednesday, with the Knights maintaining their no. 17 ranking. FDU garnered 323 points in the poll and is one of five ranked NEC teams, with no. 10 Duquesne, no. 13 Sacred Heart and no. 14 Mount St. Mary's ahead of the Knights in the updated poll. McKendree remained at no. 1 in the rankings, with Sam Houston State, Nebraska, Vanderbilt and Arkansas State rounding out the top-five. The Knights are 19-24 this season against teams ranked in the current NTCA poll.
CHRZANOWSKI NEC BOWLER OF THE WEEK

Amanda Chrzanowski was named the
NEC Bowler of the Week on Wednesday. The Schnectady, N.Y., native played a big role in helping the Knights secure wins against four ranked teams and a 6-7 overall record against a tournament field that included each of the top-8 ranked teams along with two additional ranked opponents. Chrzanowski averaged 20.48 pins per frame while bowling in all 132 frames for the Knights, finishing with team-highs of 71 strikes and 41 spares while filling 86.4 percent of her frames for the entire weekend.
LAST TIME OUT
FDU started out
4-1 after day one at the Prairie View A&M Invitational this past weekend but then suffered defeats in six of the last eight matches to finish in 11th place out of 12 teams. The Knights earned victories over four ranked opponents, including no. 3 Nebraska, no. 6 UMES, no. 18 Wisconsin-Whitewater and no. 25 Prairie View A&M. The Knights also twice defeated NEC rival Saint Francis U, once in qualifying and once in their final match of the Baker playoff bracket.

The Knights will take a 12-day break before starting the final NEC regular-season meet of the season on February 22, with the two-day event taking place in Stratford, N.J., at Thirty Strikes lanes.
