BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Fairleigh Dickinson University women's track and field team finished fourth overall on Saturday afternoon at the Angry Birds Meet. The Knights finished the afternoon with 72 points.
Results
Bucknell won the event with a team total of 176 points. Lehigh (168) and Sacred Heart (102) placed second and third respectively.
Burgundy and Blue senior
Madeline Price set a PR in the long jump event and finished first overall with her jump of 5.86 meters. Price later posted a third place finish in the 60 meter event with her mark of 7.92.
Sophomore
Jodi Alston's time of 7.87 placed second overall and set a PR in the 60 meter event. Fellow sophomore
Jadalyn Gaines also recorded a PR in the long jump (5.21 meters) and finished fourth.
In the 400 meter event, junior
Shanice Watkins posted a time of 59.38, which was good for a PR in that event and third overall. Fellow junior
Jazmyn Lewis also clocked a mark of 59.94 meters and placed sixth overall. Watkins also competed in the 200 meter event and placed second after a time of 26.24.
Burgundy and Blue sophomore
Dominyka Leskauskaite recorded a second place finish in the triple jump with a leap of 11.26 meters. Leskaukaite also was the first leg in the Knights 4x400 meter relay team that finished second with a mark of 4:06.86. Lewis, junior
Elizabeth Peppernick, and Price were the other legs in the 4x400 meter relay team.
FDU senior
Jade Searles was the Knights top finisher in the mile event. Freshman
Stacey Saint-Paul partook in the shot put event and recorded a 11.64 meter toss on her first throw.
The Knights will return to action on Saturday, January 18 at 4 p.m. when they compete in the Penn 8-Team Select in Staten Island, N.Y.
