SOMERSET, N.J. - Members of the Fairleigh Dickinson women's track and field team were named to the NEC All-Conference teams for the 2018-19 Indoor season, the conference announced Thursday.
The Knights received multiple first and second team All-Conference honors for their efforts during a 2018-19 campaign that saw FDU finish second overall at the NEC Championships, the highest finish for the program since 1999.
The 4x400 relay team of Jazmyn Lewis, Shaniyah Caul, Shanice Watkins, and Daniella Griffith earned second-team marks after taking silver during NEC Championships with a final time of 3:50.43, just narrowly trailing the winning time by .36 seconds.
Kylia Smith and Madeline Price each took home first-team honors after earning gold in their respective events at NEC's. Smith's time of 7.67 in the 60 meter dash and Price's mark of 12.33 in the triple jump were good enough to secure the duo a pair of first-place finishes and a spot onto the NEC first-team.
Akemi Dwyer also earned first-team honors in the long jump with a winning mark of 5.85 meters.
Watkins earned herself a pair of Second-Team nominations as well after the Bronx native took second in the 200 and 400 at NEC Championships last month.
Jazmyn Lewis was also given second-team honors for her silver-medal performance in the 500 meters, running a final time of 1:15.74.
