Women's Basketball Seeks a Third Straight Win when CCSU Visits Monday Night

HACKENSACK, N.J. -- The Fairleigh Dickinson women's basketball will try to win a third straight game when it hosts the Blue Devils of Central Connecticut State on Monday night at 7 p.m. in the Rothman Center. 

QUICK HITTERS
FDU held its seventh NEC -- and second straight -- opponent under 60 points on Saturday afternoon by only surrendering 54 to LIU Brooklyn. 

• FDU swept LIU for the first time since 2008-09. The win was also FDU's first at LIU Brooklyn since the 2012-13 season. 

• The Knights have had 31 bench points in each of the last two games. FDU's season high is 34 at Army West Point. 

FDU's last three-game winning streak in NEC play was in 2010-11 season when the Knights beat MSM, Wagner, St., Francis Brooklyn and LIU Brooklyn. 

SERIES SCORE
FDU has lost its last seven games to Central Connecticut. FDU's last win was in the 2012-13 season, which came at home in the Stratis Arena. All-time, the Knights are 9-8 overall at home versus the Central Connecticut. 

LAST TIME OUT
Fairleigh Dickinson got 31 points from the bench and got 26 second-chance points to win at LIU Brooklyn, 67-54. Kiana Brown had 15 points, four rebounds, four assists and four steals off the bench. Madelynn Comly scored in double figures for the eighth straight game with 16 points. Amina Markovic was also in double figures with 11 points and six rebounds. The Knights outscored the Blackbirds 33-16 over the second and third quarters to pull away. The lead got to as many as 19 points in the third quarter but LIU Brooklyn did cut it to nine in the fourth but FDU hit free throws inside the final minute to put the game on ice.   

ABOUT CENTRAL CONNECTICUT
The Blue Devils come into the tilt on Monday night 2-5 since starting NEC play with six straight wins. Overall this season, Central Connecticut is 9-15 and 8-5 in NEC play. The Blue Devils lost on Saturday to Sacred Heart 82-61. Aleah Epps leads the offense at 12.5 points per game. The senior is also the lead passer at 3.8 assists per contest. Epps' backcourt mate, Kiana Patterson is also averaging over 10 points per game at 10.8. Giocelis Reynoso (8.6) and Andi Lydon (7.3) are the leading rebounders for the Blue Devils.

FDU tied a season-high with 20 free throws against LIU Brooklyn. Also, hit 20 free throws against Wagner. Previous best was 19 against SFU. The 30 free throw attempts were also the most this season by the Knights. The Knights also hit their free throws at a 90-percent clip (20-of-22) vs. LIU, which was a season-best. 

NO BREAK TIME
LIU Brooklyn was held scoreless by FDU on the break on Sunday. It was the second time this season that the Knights held the Blackbirds without a point in transition. Third time overall this season that FDU did not surrender a point in the transition.
