HACKENSACK, N.J.
- Three games remain in the Northeast Conference regular season and the Fairleigh Dickinson Knights (13-13, 9-6 NEC) are part of a four-way tie for second place in the league entering Saturday's showdown with fellow second place team Sacred Heart.  The Knights and Pioneers (10-16, 9-6 NEC) are scheduled for a 7 p.m. tip-off at Stratis Arena in a game that will be broadcast on ESPN3.

The Knights defeated Sacred Heart, 80-68, when the teams met earlier this season in Fairfield, Connecticut.

Paul Dottino (PxP) and Tim Capstraw (Color) will call the game for the ESPN3 broadcast, which can also be seen live on NECFrontRow.com.

Prior to the game, the Knights will honor their only graduating student-athlete, Myles Mann (Atlanta, Ga./Westlake).

NEC Regular Season Race:  The NEC Tournament field is nearly set, but the seeds have yet to be determined.  With three games remaining, first place Wagner sits at 10-5, four teams (FDU, Mount, Saint Francis U, Sacred Heart) are tied for second at 9-6, St. Francis Brooklyn is sixth at 8-7 and Robert Morris and LIU are tied for seventh at 7-8.  Of the current top-8, LIU is the only team that has yet to clinch a tournament berth.  First and eighth are separated by just three games and entering Saturday an eight-way tie at 10-8 was still possible.

Series History:  This is 28th all-time meeting between Sacred Heart and Fairleigh Dickinson.  The Pioneers hold a 15-12 advantage in the series, which didn't begin until the 1999-2000 season when Sacred Heart joined the Northeast Conference.  Last season, Sacred Heart won both meetings, a 90-85 win at Stratis Arena in the season's penultimate game and a 78-77 overtime victory at the Pitt Center.  In Greg Herenda's first season at FDU the Knights split with Sacred Heart, dropping a 71-67 decision in Fairfield and winning 73-66 at home.  The Knights won the first meeting with FDU this season, 80-68, in Fairfield, Conn.

100 Assists for Anderson:  Sophomore Darian Anderson (Washington, D.C./St. John's College ) needs four assists on Saturday to reach 100 for the season.

Holloway Earns Second NEC Rookie Award:  Freshman Mike Holloway (Pittsgrove, N.J./Arthur P. Schalick ) earned his second NEC Rookie of the Week honor on Tuesday.  The 6-7 freshman forward shared the honor with Sacred Heart's Quincy McKnight.  Holloway was exceptional over two games shooting nearly 80% from the field and averaging 15.5 points and 4.0 rebounds per game.  He was named Bayer Player of the Game by NEC Television for his performance in FDU's 91-77 victory over Bryant on Thursday, February 11.

A Win Tonight:  A victory for the Knights would be the 14th of the season for FDU.  The Knights have not reached 14 wins in a season since the 2006-07 team finished the year 14-16.  It would also be the 10th NEC victory of the year for the Knights, matching the 2009-10 team's 10 conference wins for the most by an FDU squad since the 2005-06 team went 14-4 in the league and won the regular season title.

Anderson's Numbers Across the Board:  Sophomore Darian Anderson (Washington, D.C./St. John's College ) leads the Knights in scoring (14.6 ppg), assists (96), free throw percentage (83.5%) and minutes played (856).  He is shooting an incredible 90% (56-of-62) from the free throw line in NEC play.  Last game, he scored 16 points to eclipse the 700 point mark for his career and against RMU on February 13 he reached 100 career steals.  He also enters tonight with 11 career 20-point scoring games.

Balanced Attack:  The Knights rank first among NEC teams in scoring this season at 77.6 points per game.  They also lead the conference in scoring during NEC play at 80.1 ppg.  What makes the FDU offense so strong is balance.  The Knights have five players averaging double figures in conference play and overall on the season.
