FDU Knights Athletics

2017-18: Named FDU's Walter Marusyn Senior Male Athlete..Appeared in 15 games for the Knights before suffering a season-ending injury..Averaged 14.1 points, 3.6 rebounds and 3.4 assists per game..Finished career with 1,538 career points, which rank eighth all-time at FDU, second in steals (201), third in 3-pointers (170) and seventh in both assists (354) and made field goals (541). Additionally, Anderson's 1,362 career field goal attempts are the most by any player in the program's 68-year history.  Only player in school history to reach 1,500 points and dish out 300 assists.

2016-17: All-NEC Second Team Selection...NABC Division I All-District 18 Second Team...Averaged a team-high 17 points per game to go along with 3.8 rebounds, 3.2 assists and 2.0 steals per game. His two steals per game were tops in the NEC as he ascended to third all-time in FDU history with 169 for his career..Named NEC Player of the Week 1/2 and 1/23..Scored 1,000^th career point at Towson on 12/10 in 71^st career game...Also netted a career-high 33 points in the loss at Towson..Started the first 86 games of his career before missing his first ever game at LIU Brooklyn on 2/11.

2015-16: Named Second Team All-Northeast Conference…Named to the NEC All-Tournament Team…Started all 33 games for the Knights…His 60 steals were fifth most in Knights’ single-season history and his 446 field goal attempts were fourth most…Through two seasons he ranks tied for 10^th all-time in thefts with 111..Led FDU and ranked fifth in the NEC in points per game at 15.2..Topped the NEC in steals with 60 and was sixth at 33.03 in minutes played per contest...Also collected 3.5 rebounds per game and dished out a team high 3.7 assists per contest…Scored a career-high 32 points against LIU Brooklyn on January 21 with 28 coming in the second half as the Knights erased a 15-point deficit to win 101-95…Also had a career-high nine rebounds in the game…Turned in an incredible performance in the NEC Championship Game with 28 points, six rebounds, five assists and two steals…Opened the season with 21 points at nationally ranked Villanova, his brother Dwayne’s alma mater…Scored in double figures in 26 of FDU’s 33 games, including nine games with 20+ points...Had a season-high eight assists at Temple on December 2.

2014-15: Played in 29 games, starting all of them… Averaged 29.2 minutes per game…Averaged 11.4 points per game, good for second on the team…Lead the team in total assists (86) and steals (51)…Had an excellent game versus Sacred Heart (2/26), setting career-highs in points with 27 and assists with 11…In that same game, also recorded five rebounds, two steals, and shot 52.6 (10 of 19) percent…Shot a perfect 4-4 from beyond the arc in a 23 point effort against Towson (12/29)…For the victory versus FDU Florham, recorded 18 points, three steals, nine assists, and four rebounds.

St. John's: Named Second Team All-Washington Catholic Athletic Conference First Team as a sophomore and junior and Second Team as a senior... Averaged 13.6 points per game as a junior.

Coach Herenda on Anderson (Prior to 2014-15 Season): "Darian is a very quick athletic guard that can play the scoring guard and also share some time at the point.  Defensively, Darian possesses a great nose for the ball and will be able to steal the basketball and start our fastbreak. He can also shoot the ball with range as well as create off the dribble."
