HACKENSACK, N.J. - The Fairleigh Dickinson women's basketball team will try to make it back-to-back wins when it travels to NJIT on Monday night. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. at the Fleisher Athletic Center in Newark. The game will be shown on Watchespn.com and the WatchESPN app.
OPENING TIP
FDU seeks a second straight win when they visit NJIT. A win for the Knights would be the first back-to-back non-conference wins since the 2014-15 season.
SERIES SCORE
This will be the 10th meeting all-time between the Knights and Highlanders. FDU owns a 5-4 lead over the nine prior meetings. NJIT has won the last two meetings, 68-64 in 2014-15 and 81-74 in 2013-14.
FDU vs. THE ATLANTIC SUN
The Knights are 5-5 all-time against current members of the A-Sun. The other team that FDU has faced was Stetson back in 1985.
SCOUTING NJIT
The Highlanders sit at 2-1 on the young season. NJIT is coming off a loss to Bucknell, who was the Patriot League preseason favorite, by a score of 67-36. Both of the Highlanders' wins have come on their home court -- versus Wagner and St. Joseph's of Brooklyn. Four Highlanders are averaging over 10 points per game so far this season; led by Alana Dudley's 13.3. Danielle Tunstall is averaging a double-double for NJIT at 12 points and 10 rebounds per contest.
LAST TIME OUT
FDU had three players score in double figures and enjoyed a plus-18 rebounding margin to beat Longwood 75-59 in the home opener. Brianna Thomas led the way with 16 points. The Knights hit 9 three-pointers, which is the most by an FDU team since hitting nine vs Central Connecticut in 2014.
FIRST TIME FOR EVERYTHING
Kiana Brown scored 12 points against Longwood, which makes back-to-back games scoring in double figures for the senior. It is the first time in her career she has done that.
NEW CAREER-HIGHS
Peniel M'Bikata set a new career-high with eight points against Longwood. Amina Markovic set a best with 13 rebounds against the Lancers on Friday night. Courtney Blankenship grabbed nine rebounds to establish a new career-high.
