Baseball Drops Series at Bryant

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – The Fairleigh Dickinson baseball team dropped the series finale at Bryant on Sunday by a score of 11-3.  The Knights (17-23, 8-12 NEC) will close out Northeast Conference play and look to clinch a NEC Tournament berth next weekend against Mount St. Mary's at the Naimoli Family Baseball Complex.

The Bulldogs (24-20, 15-5 NEC) scored one run in the third and another in the fifth to take a 2-0 lead.

FDU got on the board in the top of the sixth inning with senior Riley Moonan (Syracuse, N.Y./Cicero North) lofting a sacrifice fly to centerfield that scored senior Shane Siebler (Nazareth, Pa./Nazareth Area).

However, the Bulldogs would break the game open with four runs in the sixth and three runs in the seventh.

The Knights added two more runs in the top of the ninth to make it an 11-3 final score.

Junior Logan Frati (Manorville, N.Y./Eastport/South Manor) (3-6) took the loss for the Knights.  He allowed six runs, five earned over six innings.

Brandon Bingel earned the win for the Bulldogs with seven innings of one-run pitching.

The Fairleigh Dickinson baseball team will host Mount St. Mary's for a four game series starting on Friday, May 15.
