Box Score

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - Erika Livermore (Nazareth, Pa./Nazareth Area) and Jackie Jackson ( Gaithersburg, Md./ Gaithersburg) both scored in double figures for Fairleigh Dickinson but, Yale had four players score in double figures to earn the 77-58 win in each team's second game of the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame Challenge.

Livermore scored 13 points-all in the first half-and grabbed six rebounds to lead Fairleigh Dickinson (0-3). Jackson had 10 points and seven rebounds. Anastasia Williams (Central Islip, N.Y./St. John the Baptist Diocesan) added eight points, seven rebounds and two blocks off the bench. Nyasha Sarju led Yale (3-1) with 14. Katie Werner and Whitney Wyckoff had 12 and Emmy Abby chipped in 10.

"We got off to a very good start and led 15-10 in the first quarter. We also had an excellent third quarter", said head coach Pete Cinella.

"Yale played a really sharp 40 minutes and we have to find a way to not let teams go on big runs. Anastasia Williams (Central Islip, N.Y./St. John the Baptist Diocesan) showed a lot of effort tonight and provided a spark off the bench."

Yale scored six in the final minute to take a 16-15 lead after one. Fairleigh Dickinson led by as many as six in the opening quarter.

The Bulldogs used a 21-point second quarter to extend their lead to 11 at the halftime break. Jen Berkowitz scored six in the quarter to help Yale build its lead. Yale also converted eight Fairleigh Dickinson turnovers to 13 points in the first half.

Unlike the first two games of the season the Knights came out of the halftime break strong. Kiana Brown (Richmond, Va./Hermitage) had six in the third quarter. However, Yale was able to match bucket for bucket and took a 58-45 lead into the fourth quarter.

Fairleigh Dickinson would cut the lead to nine in the opening minutes of the fourth but, would not get any closer as Yale hit four three-pointers in the final 10 minutes to put the game out of reach.

The Knights return to action tomorrow against Iona at 1 p.m. in their final game in Chapel Hill.
