Box Score STONY BROOK, N.Y. -- The Fairleigh Dickinson men's soccer team battled Stony Brook to a scoreless draw on Monday night at Kenneth P. LaValle Stadium. With the draw, the Knights move to 1-2-1 on the season, while the Seawolves move to 1-2-1 overall.

It appeared that FDU would have a chance to win the contest in the final minute of the second half after putting heavy pressure on Stony Brook in the box. Two shots were blocked at very close range, while Seawolves' goalkeeper Tom McMahon made a great save on senior
Godfred Baafi (Hackensack, N.J./Hackensack )'s attempt with 29 ticks left in regulation.
After a very quiet first overtime session, the Knights constructed a pair of scoring opportunities over the final 10 minutes. Forty seconds into double overtime, junior
Sam Durkot (Centereach, N.Y./Newfield) had a shot blocked, before Northeast Conference Rookie of the Week
Casey Abelein (Port Jefferson, N.Y./Earl L. Vandermeulen) had his attempt blocked 11 seconds later. Less than a minute later, McMahon turned away junior
Yusuf Hamza (Ridgewood, N.J./Ridgewood)'s scoring chance.
With less than five minutes remaining in overtime, FDU manufactured one last scoring opportunity, as junior
Lachlan Bond (Brisbane, Queensland, Australia/Ipswich)'s shot was blocked, before Hamza corralled the free ball and sailed a shot high above the cross bar.
Hamza and sophomore
Enver Caymaz (Pompton Lakes, N.J./Pompton Lakes) each recorded four shots, with Caymaz firing a match-high four shots on goal. As a team, the Knights finished with six attempts on goal, as did Stony Brook.
Freshman
Matthew Weigner (Warrington, Pa/Central Bucks South) recorded his first career clean sheet after making a season-high six saves between the pipes. McMahon also made six saves for the Seawolves.
