FDU Knights Athletics

TEANECK, N.J. - FDU Men's Soccer (3-0-1) used a second half scoring barrage to take down the Siena Saints (1-2-1) at Macron Stadium Thursday evening. 

The game started off on the wrong foot for the burgundy and blue, as Siena scored first, setting the Knights back for the first time this season. FDU would struggle to respond in the opening half and would head into halftime trailing the match by that lone tally from the Saints. 

FDU would level the match early in the second stanza as Dominic Valenzuela fired a beautiful shot that clanged off the far post and ended up behind the Siena goalkeeper for his first goal of the season, leveling the match in the process. 

The match would stay tied for the next 20 minutes of play before Arjun Venkat would be the beneficiary of being in the right place at the right time, tapping home a rebound goal to put the Knights ahead in the 73rd minute of the match. 

Just four minutes later, the Knights would strike again, as Luke Ayaz fired a shot from outside the box that found the far side of the cage, beating the Saints goalkeeper for the third time in the match, and effectively being the dagger for FDU, giving the Knights a 3-1 lead with with 13 minutes to play. 

FDU would tack one more goal for good measure as C.J. Haynes scored his first career goal, finishing off a beautiful pass from Genti Dauti as the Knights salted the game away, topping Siena by a final score of 4-1. 

The Knights outshot the Saints 11-7 in the contest, with Knights keeper Matheus Franca stopping three shots and only allowing one goal. This win marks the third in a row for FDU, as the Knights have yet to be beaten in the 2026 campaign.

FDU will take that unbeaten record to the road as the Knights will take on Villanova on the road in a Labor Day matinee at Higgins Soccer Complex. Kick off is set for 1 p.m. and the game will be streamed on ESPN+.  Read Full Article
