W. Soccer Set to Host Hartford on Sunday

TEANECK, N.J. -- The Fairleigh Dickinson women's soccer team will look to move back above .500 (2-2) when it hosts Hartford at University Stadium on Sunday for a 1 p.m. kickoff. Fans are encouraged to bring their own seats to the game, and webcasts will be on hold until further notice with the renovation of the new stands.

Last Time Out
The Knights gave a valiant effort on the road last Thursday against Atlantic Coast Conference opponent Syracuse before falling to the Orange, 2-1. After a shaky opening 45 minutes, where it found itself down 2-0, FDU rebounded to control the second half and cut the deficit to 2-1 on a goal by Kayla Adams (Ajax, Ontario/Pickering ) in the 62nd minute before coming up just short.

What You Need To Know: The Knights and the Hawks will be meeting for the sixth consecutive season. After being shutout in the first four contests of the series, FDU finally broke through last year in the 1-1 tie in West Hartford, Conn. The Knights are 2-0-0 at home this season and have outscored their opponents, 3-0, on their home turf. Hartford started the season with a 1-0 victory at home over Northeast Conference opponent Bryant, before posting two ties on the road at Saint Joseph (1-1) and Iona (0-0), with the latter coming against a Gaels' squad FDU defeated in its first game, 1-0. The Hawks are coming off a 2-1 loss to Fairfield at home this past Thursday.

The Knights will play the first of four straight contests away from University Stadium when they travel to Easton, Pa. to take on Lafayette Friday, Sept. 13, with kickoff scheduled for 7 p.m.
