MEN'S SCHEDULE | WOMEN'S SCHEDULE
HACKENSACK, N.J. – The Fairleigh Dickinson University men's and women's cross country teams have released a complete 2013 schedule, as announced by Head Coach Sharlene Milwood-Lee on Tuesday, July 23.
The Knights will look to a strong group of sophomore runners to build upon last season's performance. Then freshman Darrel Gooding (Somerset, N.J./Franklin Township) placed seventh at the 2012 NEC Championships with a time of 25:23.33 in the 8k last season. Gooding was named the NEC Rookie of the Year after finishing as FDU's first top-10 finisher since 2006. Collectively, both the men's and women's team placed 11th in the 12 team field.
This season, the men's and women's teams will compete in five events prior to the 2013 Northeast Conference Championship event.
The Knights will begin the season on Saturday, Sept. 7 at the Fordham Invitational held at Van Cortlandt Park in the Bronx. The team will then travel to Holmdel, N.J. for the Monmouth Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 21.
Milwood-Lee's team will continue competition at the Saint Francis University Father Bede Invitational in Loretto, Pa. on Saturday, Sept. 28 before participating in the Metropolitan Championships at Van Cortlandt Park on Friday, Oct. 11.
On Friday, Oct. 25 the Knights will tentatively host the FDU Knights Challenge at Van Cortlandt Park.
The Northeast Conference Championship meet will be hosted by Saint Francis University in Loretto, Pa. Ten teams will compete for the championship on Saturday, Nov. 2.
Following NEC competition, the Knights will have the opportunity to race at the NCAA Regional Championships in Lehigh, Pa. on Friday, Nov. 15, the IC4A/ECAC Championships in New York in Saturday, Nov. 23.
Those harriers who qualify will travel to Terre Haute, Ind. on Nov. 23 for the 2013 NCAA Cross Country Championships.
