HACKENSACK, N.J. -- The Fairleigh Dickinson women's basketball team (1-7) will begin a stretch playing seven of its next eight games away from Stratis Arena on Thursday at NJIT, with tipoff scheduled for 7 p.m. at Fleischer Athletic Center.

What You Need To Know: The Highlanders are coming off four straight losses and six in their last seven after starting the season on a four game losing streak. Second-year head coach Steve Lanpher has an experienced group of players at his disposal with most major-minute players being upperclassmen. The team is lead by their lone double-digit scorer in graduate student Shakia Robinson who is averaging 10 points and nearly five rebounds per game. Senior Uju Nwankwo is close to averaging a double-double with nearly nine points and nine rebounds per game. NJIT recently suffered a home loss to undefeated Albany, 75-64, and has already played two other Northeast Conference teams: won at LIU Brooklyn, 60-58; lost at St. Francis Brooklyn, 58-53.

The Knights will take time off to enjoy the holidays before heading to Miami, Fla. on December 28-29 to participate in the FIU Sun and Fun Classic. FDU will face Florida International on the 28th at 6 p.m. before facing either Wake Forest or Florida A&M the following day.
