W. Soccer Eyes NEC Regular Season Title This Weekend

TEANECK, N.J. -- The Fairleigh Dickinson women's soccer team (8-6-3, 4-0-2 NEC), who is off to its best Northeast Conference start since 2004, will conclude the regular season this weekend with a long road trip to western Pennsylvania to take on Robert Morris and Saint Francis University in conference play.

The second-place Knights first play the last-place Colonials on Friday at 2 p.m., before playing the first-place Red Flash on Sunday. With two wins this weekend, FDU, who has already clinched an NEC Tournament spot, can win the conference regular season title and earn the number one seed and home-field advantage in the tournament. SFU currently has a one-point lead in the standings over the Knights, 15-14.

Last Time Out
FDU played to a scoreless draw this past Sunday at Sacred Heart. Senior goalkeeper Sage DoVale (Lilburn, Ga./Collins Hill) made four saves to pick up her seventh shutout of the season and was named NEC Defensive Player of the Week for the second straight week and for the fourth time this season.

What You Need To Know: Colonials' head coach John Kowalski, in addition to his separate terms as both men's and women's head coach at RMU, was the interim head coach for the USA men's national team in 1991. Sophomore Kristie Hamilton leads the team with four assists and 10 points, while Madison Kozlowski and Johanna Kadam are tied with four goals apiece.

What You Need To Know: The Red Flash are led by senior forward Tesa McKibben, who is a three-time NEC Player of the Year, as well as a three-time winner of the NEC Golden Boot Award for scoring the most goals in the conference. McKibben has 13 goal, 10 assists and 36 points this season and is currently tied for eighth in the NCAA, averaging more than two points per game. Freshman goalkeeper Abbey Collins has been seeing action in goal as of late, posting a 5-1-0 record and three shutouts in six starts, with a 0.77 goals against average.

The Knights will begin play in the NEC Tournament next weekend, Nov. 8-10. FDU's seed, opponent and location will all be decided by the games played this weekend.
