NEW BRITAIN, Conn. -- Sophomore standout Darrel Gooding (Somerset, N.J./Franklin Township) finished in second place out of 119 runners at Friday's CCSU Mini Meet at Stanley Quarter Park. Gooding completed the 5K (3.1 miles) course in 15:06, eight seconds behind the winner from CCSU.

Next to finish for the Knights was junior Cody Shave (Amsterdam, N.Y./Fonda-Fultonville), who finished with a time of 16:55.

Freshmen Kazeem Otun (Rahway, N.J./Rahway ) (17:38) and Dayron Brown (Millville, N.J./Millville) (17:44) and senior Frank Ortiz (Union City, N.J./Union City) (17:51) all finished consecutively in the race.

Freshman Joshua Utate (Union City, N.J./Union City) was the last FDU runner to complete the course, as he finished in 18:32.

The Knights will return to action Nov. 2 at the Northeast Conference Championships in Loretto, Pa., where they competed on Immergrun Golf Course on Sept. 28.
