W. Soccer To Host NJIT and Manhattan This Weekend

The Fairleigh Dickinson University women's soccer team will be looking to pick up their first win of the season as they host NJIT and Manhattan this weekend.  The Knights will take on the Highlanders of NJIT on Friday, September 9 at 7:00 pm and the Jaspers of Manhattan on Sunday, September 11 at 1:00 pm.  Both games will take place at University Stadium in Teaneck, NJ.

The Knights are looking to rebound after a rough weekend tilt with two America East teams.  FDU fell to Hartford and Binghamton last weekend but has spent the week making necessary changes.

The Highlanders have started the year with a dismal 0-4 record and will be looking to challenge the Knights for each program's first win.  NJIT most recently fell to NEC opponent, Monmouth, 0-6.  The team also fell to Rider, 0-2, a team that the Knights held scoreless through 110 minutes.

NJIT will look to Kylie Jones and Gechi Ukaegbu on offense.  Both players have scored one goal for their team, while Ukaegbu leads the Highlanders with seven points on the season.  Anna Kornmuller has recorded 18 saves and allowed 13 goals in four games as NJIT's goal keeper.

Manhattan has been out-shot 13-61 by opponents in two games to start the season.  The Jaspers were defeated by Rhode Island and NEC newcomer, Bryant and currently hold a 0-2 record.  They will take on Fordham University on Friday, September 9 before traveling to Teaneck.

After the weekend's series the Knights will host Garden State opponent, Saint Peter's on Friday, September 16.
