The Fairleigh Dickinson University women's soccer team will begin the 2011 season on Tuesday, August 23 with a home contest against Rider University. Kickoff is slated for 5:00 pm at University Stadium in Teaneck, NJ.
The Knights will be led by a strong upperclassmen presence this season. Head Coach Renee Montana has nine seniors on the squad, including Rashidah Sherman (Pelham Manor, NY/Pelham Memorial) who led the 2010 squad in points.
After finishing with a 2-16-0 record last season, the Knights will be looking to establish themselves early in the season this year.
The Broncs started their season on Saturday, August 20 with a 1-0 overtime loss to Northeast Conference competitor, Mount St. Mary's.
FDU has split two games against Rider in the last two seasons. In 2009 the Knights took the W, 3-0, but fell, 2-0 in 2010.
