The Fairleigh Dickinson University women's volleyball team fell to the University of Pennsylvania, 3-1, Sunday, Sept. 24 in Philadelphia, PA. The Knights (8-4) won the opening game, 31-29, but dropped the next three by scores of 30-25, 30-19 and 30-22.
Junior middle blocker Rebecca Tenney (/Tabb) (Yorktown, VA) notched a season-high 10 block assists, in addition to nine kills. Sophomore outside hitter Lauren Boothby (/Voorhees) (Glen Gardner, NJ) tallied a team-best 13 kills, with sophomore outside hitter Megan Philbrick (/Elizabeth Seton) (Seabrook, MD) adding 10 kills.
Sophomore setter Karolina Kowalski (/North Arlington) (North Arlington, NJ) recorded 28 assist and five service aces. Freshman outside hitter Ali Philbrick (/Elizabeth Seton) (Lanham, MD) had a career-high 16 digs and junior libero Lauren Lombardo (/Laurel) (New Castle, PA) posted 12 digs.
Junior outside hitter Elena Schmidt (/Nevada Union) (Nevada City, CA) was named to the Sheraton-Penn Invitational All Tournament team, despite seeing action in two of three matches.
The Knights head to the University of Maryland ? Eastern Shore Tournament Friday, Sept. 29 where they play the Lady Hawks at 10:00 a.m., followed by Howard University at 2:00 p.m.
