BRIDGEWATER, N.J.- Mila Samardzija and Angela Marchetto took home all three major awards for the NEC per a conference release. Samardzija took home both the NEC/Molten Player of the Week and Rookie of the Week honors. Marchetto takes home her second consecutive NEC/Molten Defensive Player of the Week nod. The Knights are fresh off their second win of the season, besting Iona in three sets at the Big Apple Tournament. 

Samardzija boasts a strong start to her rookie campaign, with her three game weekend boasting 34 kills and 39 digs over three matches. Her weekend includes a pair of double-doubles and eight blocking assists as well. She continues to lead the squad in kills with 60 so far this season.

Marchetto has taken home both defensive awards this season. The award follows a weekend filled with 18 solo blocks and a lone blocking assist. The Middle blocker also dealt nine kills on the offensive end through three contests.   

The pair were named prime performers this weekend alongside Kiah Lopez. The Knights continue their season tomorrow, playing Yale at 5 p.m. on ESPN+
