Junior midfielder Michelle DeCourcey (/Fredericton) (Fredericton, New Brunswick/Fredericton) scored her second goal of the season ? her first game-winner ? in the 77th minute off a cross from the left end line by sophomore midfielder Emma Yamada (/LaSalle Academy) (Saunderstown, RI/LaSalle Academy).
FDU (4-11-1, 3-5 NEC) out-shot the Colonials, 24-8, en route to improving to 4-2-1 at home this season. Goalkeeper Jessica Onufer (Butler, PA/Butler) notched 12 saves for Robert Morris (6-12, 2-6 NEC).
DeCourcey registered a game-high six shots ? all on goal ? with freshmen midfielders Jennifer Arceneaux (/Ralston Valley) (Arvada, CO/Ralston Valley) and Lora Lehr (Rosemere, Quebec/Villa Maria) (Rosemere, Quebec/Villa Maria/Dawson College) tallying five and four shots, respectively. Senior net minder Kyla Clark (/Notre Dame/Univ. of Texas - El Paso) (Ottawa, Ontario/Notre Dame/Univ. of Texas ? El Paso) earned her second shutout of the year, making five saves.
“Today the effort was there and we got to play our game,” Head Coach Renee Montana said. “I'm proud the girls never gave up, because coming out with a win was very important.”
