Senior Dwanya Freeland broke FDU's weight throw record with a mark of 16.38m (53'9”) and placed first in the event at the Knights Classic on Sunday.

The toss broke her personal record of 15.62m from January 2011. The previous school record was 16.01m (52'6.5"), which was set by Brianne Carmichael in 2003. For Freeland's efforts, she surpassed the qualifying standard for the ECAC Championships set at 16.00m.

Freeland also won Sunday's shot put with a distance of 11.00m (36'1.25).
