Biography

2023-24
  • Made 32 appearances with five starts in his second season at FDU
  • Shot 51.3 percent from the field (77-150)
  • Tied his career-high with four steals vs. LIU on Feb. 1, 2024... also set a new high mark in field goals made with eight against the Sharks
  • Sank 37-of-56 from the free throw line (66.1 percent)
2022-23
  • Made 28 appearances for Tobin Anderson in his first season at FDU, starting eight games
  • Averaged over 17 minutes per game during the Knights' NCAA tournament run (three games)
  • Poured in 21 points in the Knights' season opener at Loyola Chicago (11/7/22), one short of the game high [Demetre Roberts]
  • Posted double-digit scoring in each of his first 10 games at FDU before missing the entire month of December due to injury
  • Bligen made his return to the hardwood on Jan. 14 against Central Connecticut
  • Made a career-best seven field goals twice, both coming on the road at Loyola Chicago and Saint Peter's (11/7/22 and 11/27/22)
  • Graduated with his Bachelor of Arts in May 2023
Prior to FDU
  • Played two seasons at Longwood (NCAA Division I - Big South) [2019-20, 2020-21] before transferring to Garden City (NJCAA - KJCCC) for the 2021-22 campaign
  • Averaged 5.4 points per game and 2.21 rebounds per game at Longwood; averaged 15.6 points per game, 5.3 boards per game and 1.8 assists per game at Garden City
  • In high school, Bligen was a two-time MVP at St. Andrew's Episcopal where he garnered three nods to the All-MAC Team

  • Samuel competed in basketball at St. Thomas Aquinas (NCAA Division II - ECC)
  • Has four siblings: Auset, Imani, Keyon and Sam
