KANSAS CITY, Mo. - FDU Men's Soccer was ranked ninth in the first rendition of the United Soccer Coaches Northeast Region Poll, which was released Tuesday afternoon. 

The Knights receive the ranking fresh off their win over the La Salle Explorers in Philadelphia Monday night, and are still unbeaten on the young season. The Knights tied Saint Peter's in a scoreless draw in their home opener and sit at 1-0-1 through the first two fixtures of the season. 

FDU has been lead early by Mid-America Nazarene and Division II All-American Jeremie Pelade, who leads the club in goals (2), shots (5), and shots on target (4). The Knights have also been stout defensively, as goalkeeper Matheus Franca has already turned away 10 shots this year, which is tied for 18th nationally. 

Vermont leads the way in the Northeast Regional Poll, with Princeton, Cornell and Bryant rounding out the top four. Fellow NEC member Stonehill after two big wins in their first two matches sits at number five, with Penn, UMBC, and New Hampshire splitting the Knights and Skyhawks in the poll. Another fellow NEC member CCSU rounds out the top 10 in this week's poll. 

FDU will look to close out the week with a win in their next match, as the Knights travel to Albany to take on the UAlbany Great Danes. Kick-off from Tom and Mary Casey Stadium is set for 6:30 p.m. with the match being streamed on ESPN+.
