MANHATTAN, N.Y. – Salif Mane OLY ('24) returned to the top of the podium Saturday afternoon, capturing the triple jump title at the Toyota USA Track & Field Outdoor Championships at Icahn Stadium. The former FDU standout and Paris Olympian claimed his second U.S. outdoor championship with a winning mark of 16.66 meters. His first national title came at the 2024 U.S. Olympic Trials.

Mane secured his place in the final with a leap of 16.11 meters on his third attempt but entered the sixth and final round sitting in third place. Much like he did at the Paris Olympics, Mane delivered when it mattered most. He soared 16.66 meters into a 4.4 m/s headwind to draw even with longtime rival and former Miami standout Russell Robinson atop the leaderboard. With the athletes tied on their best marks, the competition was decided by their second-best jumps. Mane's 16.11-meter second-best effort edged Robinson's 16.02-meter mark, giving the FDU legend the gold medal.

The triumph in New York marked a hometown championship for Mane, who was born and raised in the Bronx.
