BRIDGEWATER, N.J. - FDU outfielder
Hunter Ray was named the NEC's Player of the Week in the conference's weekly release. This honor marks the first for Ray this season, and the second of his career.
Ray is coming off a week at the plate where he hit .500 (5-10), with four home runs, nine runs driven in, seven runs scored, adding a stolen base and a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage to go along with it. Ray is now just two home runs away from breaking the FDU Baseball single season home run record of 15. Ray currently leads the NEC in slugging percentage, home runs, and RBIs. Heading into this week of action, Ray is hitting .378 with 14 home runs and 42 RBIs this season, with a 1.334 OPS.
Diego Urreta received another Prime Performer nod, after his standout three home run day in the final game against UMES, where Urreta laced a double and three round trippers, while driving in six runs in the process to lift FDU past the Hawks for a series sweep.
Ray and Urreta will both be in action next when the Knights take on Penn State in State College, PA. First pitch for the Knights and Nittany Lions is set for 5:30 p.m. and the game can be streamed on Big Ten Network Plus.
