OVERLAND PARK, Kan. - FDU two way player Jeremy Cheeseman and shortstop Johnathan Gomez have both been selected to their respective position based watch lists by the College Baseball Foundation. 

Cheeseman was listed as one of the semi-finalists for the John Olerud Two-Way Player award, which is a yearly award given out to the best two way player in the country. Cheeseman has made his name familiar to the College Baseball Foundation as not only was he listed on the preseason watch list, but was also named the John Olerud Two-Way Player of the Week earlier in the season.

Cheeseman has impressed at the plate this season, hitting .323 with a 1.167 OPS with 11 home runs and 30 RBI. Cheeseman has also got it done on the bases, stealing 11 bases in as many tries, as he has yet to be thrown out on the base paths. On the mound, Cheeseman has tallied a pair of wins, and has logged the most innings of any Knight on the pitching staff. Cheeseman has also struck out 29 batters across his nine starts. 

Gomez has been named as a Brooks Wallace Award Semi-Finalist, which is an award that is given to the nation's best shortstop. Gomez has been the key to the top of the FDU lineup, as Gomez has made 91 straight starts since starting his career at FDU, and is currently riding a 18 game hitting streak as well as a 33 game on base streak heading into the weekend of play. 

Gomez in total is hitting .373 with 15 doubles, seven home runs, with 31 runs driven in. Gomez also adds a ton of slug to the leadoff position, as Gomez has a total OPS 1.111, as he is one of four qualified Knights that has an OPS over 1.000

Both Cheeseman and Gomez are sure to be in the starting lineup as the Knights will head to Mercyhurst for a pivotal three game set in Erie. First pitch from Mercyhurst Baseball Field is set for Friday, April 24th at 3 p.m.
