BRIDGEWATER, N.J. - FDU sophomore right fielder Hunter Ray won his second NEC Player of the Week Award, this time being a co-player of the week nod after Ray broke the single-season home run record at FDU. Two more sophomores Johnathan Gomez and Travis Stroh were tabbed with a Prime Performer distinction, after good weeks at the plate in FDU's most recent week of action. 

Ray is coming off a week where he rewrote the history books for an FDU Knight, as no player in program history has hit more home runs than Ray in a single season. Ray broke the single season record Tuesday afternoon at Naimoli Family Baseball Complex against Fordham, and then followed up on that performance by homering against the Rams in the Bronx the next day, ringing one off of the Houlihan Park scoreboard. Ray also went on to hit another home run in FDU's weekend series against Le Moyne, making it his 19th of the season at the conclusion of the week of play. 

Travis Stroh is another Knight that rewrote the history books over the weekend, as Stroh has the new single season record for RBI's in one game, as Stroh cranked three home runs and drove in nine runners to set the new single game record. In total, Stroh went 7-16 at the plate over the week of play with nine runs scored, while also drawing four walks. 

Johnathan Gomez has been an anchor for the FDU offense this season, as Gomez is currently riding a 33 game on base streak, that dates back to Feb. 28 against Georgetown. In addition to that streak, Gomez also has a 18 game hitting streak during this span, which he is currently riding heading into the next week of play. 

The Knights will look to continue thier momentum when the team heads to Erie, P.a. to take on the Mercyhurst Lakers at MU Baseball Field in a three game series, with the opening contest taking place on Friday, April 24th.
