BRIDGEWATER, N.J. - FDU shortstop
Johnathan Gomez was named the NEC's Player of the Week in a release produced by the conference Tuesday afternoon. Gomez shined at the plate in FDU's most recent week of action, where the Knights scored 81 runs, setting a new school record for most runs in a five game span.

Diego Urreta were tabbed as "Prime Performers" for their efforts in the past week.
Gomez was named the player of the week after a remarkable week of hitting for the Knights, out of the leadoff spot Gomez went 11-for-17 (.647), with three home runs, two doubles, and 11 RBI. Gomez also scored 14 runs over the five game stretch, while walking seven times, getting hit by a pitch twice, and he also never struck out in the five games.
Hunter Ray was named a prime performer for the second time this season, as Ray went 8-for-24 at the plate last week, with three home runs, 11 RBI, with an additional eight runs scored. Ray also walked twice and stole two bases.
Jeremy Cheeseman was terrific at the plate in the last five games for the Knights, as he went 8-for-17 on the week with four home runs, including two separate two homer games, while driving in eight runs with two walks, three stolen bases, and nine runs scored in the five games.
Diego Urreta went 6-for-19 at the dish in teh five contests for FDU, but his prime performer nod came from his runs batted in stat, where Urreta drove in 15 runs over the course of the last week, making good for an even three RBI per contest in the last week. This is the second time Urreta has been nominated as a prime performer in the conference's weekly awards this season.
The Knights are prepped for the second week of their ten game homestand at Naimoli Family Baseball Complex, as FDU will meet up with Marist on Tuesday, Saint Peter's the following day, then FDU is set for a three game series with NEC newcomer New Haven from Friday to Sunday.
