EASTON, Mass. – FDU (7-15, 4-5) erased a 12-point deficit but could not hold on in the final minute as Stonehill (8-14, 5-4) claimed a 58-57 victory on Thursday night.

KNIGHT OF THE (K)NIGHT

  • Arthur Cox (18 points) played a huge role in 24 minutes off the bench
    • 18 points sets a season-high for the graduate student
  • Cox went 8-15 from the field and scored 14 points in the second half
  • He finished with nine rebounds, four of which came on the offensive end
GAME STORY

The Knights opened the game well, taking an early 16–6 lead behind buckets from David Jevtic and steady defensive pressure, but Stonehill responded with a decisive 17–0 run late in the first half to seize control. FDU struggled offensively during that stretch, going several minutes without a field goal and entering halftime trailing 31–23.

In the second half, FDU mounted an impressive comeback led by Taeshaud Jackson and Arthur Cox. Jackson was relentless on the glass and in the paint, scoring 12 of his 14 points after halftime and keeping FDU within striking distance. Cox added key mid‑range jumpers and finished with a team‑high 18 points. FDU briefly took the lead at 57-53 but a Stonehill three and two free throws in the final minute lifted the Skyhawks in front. Despite outscoring Stonehill 34-27 in the second half, FDU was unable to retake the lead in the final seconds.
