BRONX, N.Y. — The power of FDU's Kylie Nott was not enough for the Knights (2-6) against Temple (5-3) in Friday afternoons match on Day 2 of the Rose Hill Classic.
Coming out hot in the first set, FDU would struggle to find their rhythm throughout the rest of the match. While Senior MB, Kylie Nott would lead the team with 8 kills, 3 blocks, and two aces, hitting .538, this would not be enough against the Owls. Temple would take full control of the match, 20-25, 25-17, 25-17, 25-12.
Set 1:
The Knights came out with some firing in set one. Behind the service line, Isabella Scarfone put the service pressure on the Owls with two aces, giving FDU a six-point advantage. While Temple would begin to find some momentum, the Knights would close out set one, 25-20.
Set 2:
Temple would come back with some fight, turning up their service pressure. Giorgia Vaschetti would tally 3 kills for the Knights, but the Owls would drop three service aces to take the set, 25-17.
Set 3:
Taking their momentum from the previous set, Temple would continue to lead, increasing their number of blocks and kills. A late substitution by the Knights would shift the team's energy, but the Owl's large lead made it impossible to crawl back in. Temple would take the set 25-17.
Set 4:
The Knights had no answer for the Owls. Temple would take control and not look back, finishing the match, 25-12.
The Stats:
- Kylie Nott (Sr.) led the team with 11.5 points, hitting .538 and scoring 8 kills, 3 blocks, and two aces, hitting .538
