BRONX, N.Y. — FDU (2-5) ventured to the Big Apple to take on Fordham (5-2) in their first match of the Rose Hill Classic. The Knights would have no response for the Ram's service and blocking pressure, falling in three straight sets. 

Despite moments of strong back-row defense, errors made it a steep hill for the Knights to climb. Fordham controlled the match from start to finish, securing the win 25-20, 25-18, 25-13.

Set 1:

From the starting line, the Knights traded points with the Rams, but tough serves and blocking pressure at the net gave Fordham a comfortable lead, 17-10. While the Knights would rally a few late service runs, it was not enough and Fordham would take the first set 25-20.

Set 2:

Fordham carried its momentum into the second set. While FDU out-defended the Rams in the back row, service and attacking errors proved costly for the Knights. The Rams closed out the second set 25-18.

Set 3:

The Knights found early energy behind freshman defensive specialist Kayla Green, who recorded three key digs in one rally to spark a 6-3 lead and force a Fordham timeout. The Rams quickly regrouped, going on a few long scoring runs to swing the momentum and close the match with a 25-13 victory.

• Kylie Nott (Sr.)- 6 kills, 2 blocks, hitting .667

The Knights return for Day 2 of the Rose Hill Classic, competing against Temple tomorrow, September 12th, at 4 p.m. ET inside Rose Hill Gymnasium.
