BRIDGEWATER, N.J. – The Northeast Conference announced their weekly softball awards Tuesday afternoon. FDU was represented by Brooklyn Shroyer for the second straight week. Shroyer was named the NEC Pitcher of the Week.

Shroyer picks up the accolade following a terrific week at the CSUN Champions Classic. Shroyer helped the Knights pick up two key victories over CSUN and Montana. 

On the opening day of the tournament, Shroyer twirled a gem against the hosts from CSUN. She pitched all nine innings of a thrilling extra-inning affair that saw the Knights win 4-3. 

Shroyer followed up her gem the next day with a stellar relief appearance to help the Knights pick up another victory. With the game tied, and the potential go-ahead run on base, head coach Chris Foye called on Shroyer to get the Knights out of a jam. She did just that, and proceeded to pitch three shutout innings of one-hit ball to pick up her second victory of the weekend. 

Shroyer has now won back-to-back NEC Pitcher of the Week Awards.

For her efforts, Shroyer was named an NEC Prime Performer. She was joined by two teammates, as Celeste Quezada and Madison Rishel were also named Prime Performers for their stellar weekends at CSUN.

The Knights will be back in action on March 8, when they play in the UMBC Round Robin.
