Match Recap: Men's Tennis |

Fairfield Snaps Men's Tennis Win Streak

FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Men's tennis saw their three-match winning streak snapped on Tuesday at Fairfield. The Stags swept the Knights, 4-0.

Fairfield took the doubles point with ease, winning all three of those matches.

FDU was without one of their top singles players, which made the Stags even tougher of an opponent. Fairfield won in straight sets at one and four and won a third set at five to win the match. The #4 spot served as the clincher.

FDU was competitive in the a few of the singles matches. As mentioned, Jore Alonso-Cortes took his opponent to three at #5. Andrew Nicolae was in a decisive third set at #6 before the match ended. At #2 Gryffin Minor was a second set tiebreaker away from pushing his match to three and at #4 Taurus Mickus dropped a close first set and was tied 4-4 in the second one.
