FDU Men's and Women's Tennis Begins NEC Tournament Play April 16

BRIDGEWATER, N.J.- The NEC Tennis Championships begin April 17, with the Men's and Women's Tennis Brackets playing out at the Mercer Country Tennis Courts. FDU women's tennis enters the bracket as the top seed, while the men's tennis squad enters as the fifth seed. 

In the women's bracket, the reigning champion FDU Knights enter as the top seed, following a 6-1 season of conference play. Four time NEC Player of the Week Anastasia Lim and three time Rookie of the Week Sophia Fredericks-McKee lead the Knights into this year's tournament. 

The Knights will play the winner of the first round match between #8 Mercyhurst and #9 Binghamton, with the match scheduled to start no earlier than 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.

The men's tennis team enters the tournament as the #5 seed, following a 3-3 slate within the NEC. Gryffin Minor continues to lead the Knights in the top singles position, collecting one NEC Player of the Week award this spring. 

In the bracket, the Knights face off with the #4 LIU Sharks, with the match starting no earlier than 2 p.m.
