The Knights pulled ahead in the fifth when Cheeseman singled to right field, plating another run to give FDU its first lead of the day. Cheeseman continued his impressive performance at the plate in the seventh, driving a single up the middle to extend the Knights' lead to 4-2.
Marshall's offense, however, responded in the bottom of the seventh with a two-run double to tie the game at 4-4. The Herd then took the lead in the eighth on a sacrifice fly, bringing the score to 5-4.
FDU mounted a late rally in the ninth, loading the bases with a chance to reclaim the lead, but couldn't push across the tying run, ultimately dropping the series finale.
