TEANECK, N.J. – The FDU Knights (2-15, 2-1 NEC) faced off against the Hofstra Pride (5-10, 0-0) in a midweek matchup, falling 14-6.
Hofstra wasted no time jumping ahead, scoring seven runs in the first four innings, fueled by two home runs and a triple to build a commanding 7-0 lead.
FDU got on the board in the fourth inning, capitalizing on a wild pitch to scratch across a run. However, the Pride responded with another offensive surge, adding seven more runs in the fifth and sixth innings behind a three-run homer and a pair of doubles, extending their lead to 14-1.
The Knights showed some fight in the bottom of the sixth, pushing across four runs thanks to disciplined at-bats and aggressive baserunning, cutting the deficit to 14-5. They plated their final run of the game with the bases loaded on a fielder's choice, but the rally fell short as Hofstra secured the 14-6 victory.
